Monday, March 11, 2024 (Happy Birthday, Bobby McFerrin, Mercer Ellington, Astor Piazzolla, Douglas Adams, Wanda Gag)
Greetings and welcome to my first blog entry.
I’ve wanted to do a weekly blog since 2014-ish so here it is, 10 or 20 years late.
Some of you reading this have hopped over from my bi-weekly newsletter and I thank you for doing so.
Spies Are People Too
The original newsletter started as a way to keep the buyers of my art informed on new work, process, progress, sales and availability.
It expanded from there to include friends and fans of my art as well as spies (you know who you are).
The response from that newsletter was great and that’s what finally kicked my butt to make this blog happen.
One of the reasons I am doing this instead of the newsletter is to have the opportunity to interact with all of you in the comments, as a group, and for you to interact with each other.
In the meantime, we are also continuing to revise the website and develop the Shopify store for purchases.
Club Sandwich Hold The Onions
I always appreciate the appreciators as far as my Fine Art goes.
From concept to result, I’m the first to understand that my art is not for everyone and those who “get it” have a very cherished place in my heart, for sure.
My art is not your Grandma’s Thomas Kinkade print hanging in the bathroom, this I know.
Surrealism itself is a special club of special people.
This club of my artwork-
music
meets visual art
meets improvisation
meets synesthesia
meets automatism-
is an exclusive club wrapped in a mystery wrapped in enigma. Like an Art Club Sandwich gone mad.
And I truly appreciate you being here out on the edge with me.
(...or, at most, PG)
All feedback, requests, comments and questions are absolutely welcome as long as the language is rated G-ish and there are no politics. This is about Art, Music, Creation, Process, Originality, Ideas, Inspiration… and there’s not much of any of those things found in politics unfortunately (and that, right there, will be the first and last of any political opinions here).I will post every Monday, in a thousand words or so (about a 6 minute read, give or take) and we can explore this whole creativity thing together.
Thank You Again For The Read
See you on Mondays and in the comments.Lennie

We are travelers on the road
We are here to help each other, Walk the mile and bear the load.”
Stay gold Lennie…love the blog!!
I would love to see what you produce if you listen to only PHISH
Yea! White print on black background. I find it much easier to read. Guess that is because I am old enough to have used the first CRT monitors on computers – either white or green on black. Never did like black on white. Just proves yet again that everyone has their own preferences.
Congratulations on the blog. Looking forward to being here often.
Aw gee, Lennie, isn’t there a way you can do like a Thomas Kinked work in black and white? Now that I live in Iowa, it sure would delight some of my redneck friends who insist that’s art they can understand. You know, party. And talk about surrealism, can you imagine a surrealist treatment a la Peterson of cows in a pasture?! Seriously, there is good art out here in the cities and I’m including my gallery but as Picasso said (or someone like him,) every lie contains some truth. Looking forward to seeing your finished Miles Davis.
Way to go, Lennie! Welcome to the 21st century! Your next step is to set an RSS feed so that we will know when something new has been posted. Word of warning, though: Lots of people start blogs, but never post more than a few entries, but I’m sure you won’t fail your faithful public…
